First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Mrs. Sia Nyama Koroma who arrived in London on Monday 31st August 2009, in honour of an invitation sent to her by Mrs. Sarah Browne, wife of the British Prime Minister, has returned to Sierra Leone.
While in London, Mrs. Sia Nyama Koroma held fruitful discussions with her British counterpart. The discussions were centered on maternal and child health related issues.
The meeting at No.10 Downing Street which happens to be the official residence of the British Prime Minister discussed an overview on the progress made in the fight against infant and maternal mortality in Sierra Leone. Mrs. Sia Koroma delivered a paper on her leadership role and the Womenís Initiative Safer Health (WISH) project.

She highlighted the main achievements since the launching of the said project which included the development of the WISH Framework with stakeholders and supporting the financial empowerment of women through agriculture.
Present at the discussions include: the Executive Director of UNICEF, Ann Veneman, the UN Special Envoy for Malaria, Raymond G. Chambers, and Dr. Lynda Foray-Rahall of the World Health Organization (WHO).
