Local tabloids have alleged that most government ministers are now covering their vehicles registration plates while plying the streets at night. This, according to reports, will create recipe for clandestine activities. Reports say, it is a deviling activity and it will be difficult for police to effectively do their work.
Okada Disaster in Kenema
Reports have revealed that a fatal accident recently occurred at Hanga Road in Kenema that led to the death of one bike rider. According to reports, the bike rider met his fatal death in collision and was not wearing the right helmet.
Top US Military Officer Visits to Sierra Leone
Local tabloids say a top US Military Officer, General Williams Ward has completed his recent visit to Sierra Leone. Reports say the General met with President Ernest Bai Koroma, the Minister of Defence, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Maritime Wing and the ECOWAS Logistics Depot. According to reports, General Ward is the United States Africa Command commander.
Lungi Police Cry for Help
Reports say police in the Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom at the Lungi Airport have appealed to the appropriate stakeholders to provide them logistics. According to the Local Unit Commander (LUC) Superintendent Henry M. Sesay, police needs enough logistics supports in order to curb the menace of criminal attacks. Reports say the lack of mobility and other equipment are the major challenges the police is faced with.
Flooding Hits Pujehun District
Reports have revealed that Bondapi Town, in the Kpanga Kabondeh Chiefdom was recently hit by flooding as a result of heavy rainfall. There were no reports of death, but houses and properties worth millions of Leones were destroyed. Residents were temporarily relocated to Pujehun Town.
No Local Tax, No ID Card
The newly appointed Chief Registrar of the National Registration Secretariat (I.D Card Officer) Mr. Max Ahmadu Sesay has reportedly disclosed that his office will not issue an identity card to anyone who is without a local tax. Report say, the cost of the ID card is just Le 12,500 for a Sierra Leonean citizen; for ECOWAS residents Le50, 000; for non ECOWAS Africans Le100, 000; and other residents 100 United States Dollars.
Armed Robbers Attack FBC Lecturer
Reports have disclosed that armed robbers have attacked a Fourah Bay College Lecturer Raymond De-Souza, at the college quarters. According to reports, the robbers stormed quarters at about 8:00pm on Sunday during a christening party and ordered merry makers to lay flat on the ground. The robbers reportedly carted away valuable properties but nobody was injured.
