Doctors at the Emergency Hospital are still fighting to save the life of a 22-year old boy, who was recently stabbed at Somaila Town in the New England Environs.

Abu Bakarr Kargbo suffered a deep knife wound at his ribs, being the aftermath of a brief argument that ensued between the victim and a man called Rasta Escopi.

This incident occurred few days when another youth known as The Grave stabbed his colleague to death at Tengbeh Town in Freetown.

Police in Lungi are also on record to have fired live bullets on protesting youths in Lungi, whilst Waterloo and Lumpa was recently converted to a war zone, when some military personnel locked horns with police officers and commercial motor bike riders.

According to eye witnesses at Somaila Town, the incident occurred when the victim insist to maintain a rule in the football gala competition organized for youths in the area.

The youths in the area, earlier agreed that the gala will only attract footballers residing within the Somaila Town community.

According to residents, Rasta Escopi is a member of a notorious crime group of youths in the community who called themselves Black Students. It was further revealed that Rasta Escopi is not a resident of Somaila Town, although his group of gangsters have there usual meeting place, ghetto, in the Somaila Town community

Rasta Escopi, according to reports, took offence when the stabbed victim insisted that he (Rasta Escopi) did not meet the criteria to participate in the football competition, since he is not a resident of the area.

It was during the brief argument that Rasta Escopi allegedly drew out a kitchen knife from his trousers and stabbed Abu Bakarr.

The youths in the community responded promptly by arresting the culprit and dragged him to the New England Police Station.

The victim was then rushed to the Connaught Hospital; later to the 34 Clinic and finally to the Emergency Hospital in Goderich.

Meanwhile, youths in the area, and some family members of the victim, have vowed to kill the culprit and burn down his residence should anything happen to Abu Bakarr.

Several Citizens have however, raised concerns over the growing rate of violence in the country, and are calling on the authorities to intervene.
