Virtues International Academy, one of Sierra Leones outstanding international private schools, has made a passionate plea to the authorities concerned through the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports, to provide the school with the required recognition and clarification to put forward candidates for the annually Basic Education Certificate Education (BECE) and the West Africa Secondary School Examination (WASSCE).

In an interview with Awareness Times yesterday 30th September 2009, the Principal of Virtues International Academy, Idrissa Bartholomew Sesay, stated that the school has been functional for the past two years and that since its inception, the school has recorded quite a number of remarkable achievements.

He disclosed that the schools enrollment has exceeded 200, adding that more children are seeking admission.

He said the fact that many children are being attracted to the school is an indication that it is doing fine and therefore qualified enough to put in candidates for external examinations.

Mr. Idrissa Bartholomew Sesay pointed out that the school has trained and qualified teachers, with the least being a HTC holder.

He further explained that the school has a number of facilities which are being enjoyed by both teachers and pupils.

He went on to describe the relationship between parents and teachers as cordial, saying parents contribute immensely towards the development of the school.

In a rather determined mood, Mr. Sesay appealed to the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports and the Freetown City Council to consider their request to be granted permission to send in pupils for external examinations.

He assured that the school will live up to expectation once approved.
