Le400m Bail for Ex-Soldiers


Local tabloids have it that ex-soldiers, classified as mentally and chronically ill, who appeared before Magistrate Stephen Conteh have been granted bail in the sum of Le400m. According to reports, the accused persons, Brima Thomas, Edward Pama, David Sheriff, Abu Bakarr Turay and Abdul Bangura recently took part in a riotous strike action. The accused were reportedly dragged to court on charges of conspiracy to commit a felony, malicious damage and riotous conduct, among others.


Fraudster Faces 2 Years Imprisonment


A convicted fraudster, Pessima Kamara, has reported been sentenced to two years imprisonment by Magistrate Bankole Shyllon. According to reports, the convict fraudulently converted to his personal use the sum of Le500, 000, entrusted to him to deliver to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Mr. Samuel Beccles.


Man Arrested for Penis Disappearance


One Hassan Bangura has reportedly been arrested over an allegation of a disappearance of the penis of one Mohamed Bangura. According to reports, the Congo Cross Police Division in Freetown arrested Hassan for being the cause of the mysterious disappearance of Mohamed Penis. The complainant, Mohamed Bangura accused the suspect of using a white handkerchief to touch his private part, resulting to it mysterious disappearance.


Goal-SL on Nutrition Feasibility Studies


Local tabloids have revealed that a non governmental organization, Goal Sierra Leone, is conducting a nutrition feasibility study at the Mayenkineh Community, Calaba Town in Freetown. According to reports, the study is in line with the increasing reports of malnutrition and the threat it pose to children who lack medical facilities in their communities. Reports say Goal has always embarked on the protection of childrens health.


PMDC Chair Debunks Press Report


The National Chairman of the Peoples Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC), Mohamed Bangura has debunked press reports alleging that he was on the APC payroll. Mohamed Bangura vehemently denied receiving a monthly salary of $4, 500 from the APC coffers, in order to cement the relationship between the two parties.


Rokel Commercial Bank Opens New Branch


It has been reported that the Rokel Commercial Bank has opened a new branch at Charlotte Street in Central Freetown. According to reports, the purpose of opening the new branch is to reduce tension at the main Siaka Steven Street branch. The bank does business from Monday to Friday, commencing 8:30am and closed at 3:30pm daily.


Tertiary Institutions to submit Financial Reports


The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance has ordered all tertiary institutions in the country to submit their financial statements and annual budget to the Education Ministry. According to reports, the main motive behind the submission is to enable the Ministry to determine whether an increase in fees is necessary or not.


Daru Flood Victims Receive Donation


Reports have alleged that the victims of the recent flood disaster at Daru in the Kailahun District have received relief from the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society (SLRCS). According to reports, SLRCS donated items including mats, blankets rubber bowls, ports and kitchen utensils. Reports say over 100 family heads received the donated items
