THE 50/50 GROUP IS LOOKING FOR A SUITABLY QUALIFIED SIERRA LEONEAN TO FILL THE FOLLOWING POST:

PROGRAMME MANAGER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The post holder will be expected:

To manage the TROCAIRE PROJECT at the Freetown and field level operations
To manage relations between the 50/50 Group and its partner and beneficiaries.
To represent the 50/50 Group in a decision-making capacity on the Project Steering Committee for the TROCAIRE project.
To ensure that high standards of financial accountability and management are maintained through close tracking, accurate record keeping and reporting of income and expenditure against budgets.
To coordinate and ensure the production of quality and timely reports to the partner for funded activities.
To create and maintain a high-performance environment characterised by positive leadership.
To manage the Projects field-level staff on a day-to-day basis, setting performance targets and conducting performance reviews as and when required.

To carry out other duties assigned by the management of the 50/50 Group in line with organisational objectives

SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

Required

Bachelors degree in political science, social development/planning, international relations, gender and development or other related subjects (possessing a higher degree will be an added advantage).
Experience in development work with an NGO or government department (experience working with an INGO will be an added advantage)
Proven commitment to equal opportunities and gender equity and sound knowledge of gender issues in the Sierra Leone/West Africa context
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare accurate and informative reports
Excellent leadership and motivational skills with a proven ability to adopt participatory approaches to planning and decision-making and experience of coaching/mentoring
Excellent presentation and negotiating skills, and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholder groups
Evidence of excellent managerial, planning and organisational skills
A strong track record on financial management
Strong strategic thinking, analytical ability and creative approaches to problem solving
Good team player, able to share workload and work closely in a dynamic team.
High level of flexibility and adaptability to demanding work schedules
Computer literacy: familiarity with standard office software packages
Track record in the management/development of nascent/emerging organisations
Strong sense of integrity and personal commitment to the goals of the 50/50 Group

Desirable

Knowledge and experience of women and politics in Africa
Training/facilitating skills
High level of influencing skills and the ability to encourage a wide

range of players to think positively and creatively about the potentialfor change.

THE 50/50 GROUP IS LOOKING FOR A SUITABLY QUALIFIED SIERRA LEONEAN TO FILL THE FOLLOWING POST:

FINANCE MANGER (PART TIME 20%)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: :

Ensures compliance with accounting principles and practices in Sierra Leone, including tax liabilities.
Manages bank and cash balances including cheque and invoice payments, expenditure coding, reconciliation and tax reimbursements.
Ensures accuracy and timeliness of all financial and accounting reports
Produces monthly financial management information for Programme Manager
Prepares the TROCAIRE partner financial report in consultation with the Programme Manager and members of the executive board.
Manages team members, sets performance targets and conducts reviews as and when required.
Supports and assists field staff in the programme requirements by providing competitive quotations on supplies and making recommendations.
Processes all supply requests and ensures timely delivery of programme materials requested
Ensures that leases and insurance on properties rented by the 50/50 Group are up to date and valid at all times.
Ensures that the 50/50 Group vehicle is managed and maintained to the required standard including licensing and insurance.
Sets up and maintains a commodity tracking system for all consumable and non-consumable stocks.
Generates and manages information reports on regular basis for:
a. Vehicle fuel consumption and maintenance costs
b. Generator fuel consumption
c. Office Supplies usage and Stock report
d. Procurement

SKILLS AND COMPETENCES:

Required:

Degree in accounting (or HND in Business Studies and Accounting) and at least 3 years of similar experience working in NGOs or INGOs
Knowledge and understanding of standard financial policies, procedures and practice
Customer focus and cost efficient practices
Proven experience of staff performance management
Good team building skills and ability to respond to staff challenges in a positive and encouraging manner
Ability to work effectively under pressure and with minimum supervision
Ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong commitment to equal opportunities and gender equity
Computer literacy: familiarity with standard office software packages
Strong sense of integrity and personal commitment to the goals of the 50/50 Group

Desirable:

Knowledge of GoSL regulations for NGOs or INGO operations
Ability to drive (with a valid local drivers licence

PROGRAMME OFFICER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To coordinate the implementation of the TROCAIRE project in Kono and Mountain District.
To work closely with project staff and facilitators in Freetown and in the field for the purpose of implementing the trainings
To support field level staff in problem identification, analysis and the development of intervention plans and other matters as the need arises.
To work closely with members of the executive of the 50/50 Group, the project team, partners and allies to implement the training objectives
To coordinate and ensure regular project monitoring.
To capture learning and innovative experiences within the project and communicate this learning by feeding them into reports, reviews, strategies and recommendations.
To produce monthly reports as directed by the Executive Board.
To assist the Finance Manager in the organisation of audits and evaluation of the project .
To manage the 50/50 Groups facilitators in setting performance targets and conducting reviews as and when required.
To carry out other duties assigned by the Executive Board in line with project aims

SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

Required

v Degree or higher diploma in social sciences or other related subject.
v Experience in development work with an NGO or government department (experience with an INGO will be an added advantage)
v Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholder groups.
v Good presentation skills
v Strong planning and organisational skills
v Good team player, able to share workload and work closely in a dynamic team.
v High level of flexibility and adaptability to demanding work schedules.
v Computer literacy: familiarity with standard office software packages
v Desirable
v Ability to adopt participatory approaches to decision-making.
v Experience of governance and democratisation work.
v Experience of capacity building/training with civil society organizations and/or government departments.
v Reasonable degree of coaching skills.
v Lobbying/negotiating skills.
v High level of influencing skills and the ability to encourage a wide range of players to think positively and creatively about the potential for change.
