APC Council Installs 1000MW Radio?

Reports in the opposition mouthpiece states that the Independent Media Commission (IMC) has granted a license to the ruling party controlled Freetown City Council to run and operate an FM Radio Station that would be under the management of Councillor Dennis Smith, the former Manager of the now-banned APC Radio Station. It is alleged that one DIAKEM-Investments of 26 Adelaide Street bagged the contract to procure the Radio items. The report also alleges that when the opposition SLPP had tried to increase their wattage to 1000MW, the IMC had rejected their request and then proceeded to just ban the SLPP Radio in a most arbitrary manner. The IMC is being asked to comment.

Le 115m oversight Robbery at Finance Ministry

Local tabloids have alleged that thieves have carted a way a cartoon containing Le 115, 075, 00, at the Ministry of Finance, George Street in Freetown. Reports say, the money was withdrawn from the Central Bank of Sierra Leone for the purpose of organizing a two weeks programmed in the provinces. According to reports, the money was kept in the office of one Alusine Kargbo an accountant in the Ministry who turned up for work only to find his office door damaged and the Money gone. Some security personnel are reported to be helping the Police with the investigations.

Ernest Koroma Rejects SLBC Bill

The President of Sierra Leone Dr. Ernest Koroma had reportedly refused to sign the new Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) with regards the appointment of Director General. According to reports, although the bill was approved by parliament and sent for presidential assent, President Koroma in his wisdom, has sent it back to parliament for the necessary amendments especially with respect to the appointment of DG.

Incest! Father Impregnates Daughter

Reports have it that one Brima Alimany Kamara has impregnated his step daughter at Waterloo in the Western Rural District. The 16 years old daughter is a pupil of the peninsular Secondary School. The matter has been reported to the local authorities but Brima Kamara is now in hiding and nowhere to be found.

Comium splashes fuel in Freetown & Bo

One of Sierra Leones reliable telecommunications company, COMIUM reportedly donated hundreds of gallons of fuels to a number of its valued subscribers in Freetown and Bo. According to reports the fuel donation can be won with just 5,000units top up promotion which enables subscribers to win a full tank fuel for their vehicle.

APC Gangsters Beat Journalist

Reported have revealed that the APC Task Force Leader in the Kambia District, Saidu Sesay allegedly beat up one Gibril Gottor a journalist to a state of coma. According to reports, Gibril was on the fact finding relating to issuing of fake receipt to commercial drivers by the task force when he was intercepted and given a beating to a state of unconsciousness.

Lansana Fadika Expected Today

Popular Opposition Chairman of the Western Area, Agba Lansana Fadika is expected back in Sierra Leone today after a sojourn in the United States of America to seek medical treatment following the brutal attack he suffered at the hands of ruling party thugs in March this year. Fadika is expected to give testimony to the proposed Commission of Enquiry slated to review the political violence of that period.
