SLPP Paints Bo Green

Reports filtering in from the southern city of Bo indicate that the entire Bo, especially Ward 232, yesterday turned into a green scenery when a high powered delegation from the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) stormed the township.

Members, supporters and sympathizers of the SLPP succeeded in converting the entire Bo City into a place of pomp, pageantry and jubilations during the launch of the partys campaign for the Local Council Bye Election to be held in Ward 232 on November 7 2009.

Hundreds of green claded residents embarked on massive campaigning across the seven sections in Ward 232.

Moses Jakima, the SLPP aspirant in the ward, disclosed that he is confident that he will clinch the seat, whilst calling on the electorate to elect him without hesitation.

The Provincial Secretary of the SLPP, Mohamed Ali, said Mr. Jakima is the fittest candidate to replace the late SLPP councilor in the ward.

It could be recalled that a delegation comprising members of the Peoples Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) led by the partys leader, Charles Francis Margai, launched their campaign in the ward on Tuesday 27th October 2009.

The All Peoples Congress (APC) party was the first to launch its campaign in the said ward.

Meanwhile, reports have it that the National Electoral Commission (NEC) has rejected the candidate forwarded by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) party, who allegedly failed to produce his voters Identification Card for the 2007 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.

The campaign has so far been peaceful and by all indications, all three parties are determined to clinch the seat.
