President Koroma & musician, Emmerson Bockarie will be heading to London this week but on two separate missions. President left yesterday to raise funds from Donors & promote Sierra Leone to investors whilst Emmerson is going to attend a massive music concert that is being hosted for him by Sierra Leoneans at posh Fridge Club in Brixton. DJ Base of UN Radio's Nightline is already in UK to fully grace the event.

Salone Concert Live 09

Salone Concert Live 09, a group of patriotic Sierra Leoneans in the United Kingdom, will usher in a host of events in London, slated on the 20th November 2009 at the Fridge Club in Brixton, with acclaimed music star Emmerson Bockarie.

The wait is finally over; the rumours are confirmed for the first time Sierra Leoneans in the United Kingdom will get their chance to dance to Emmerson's new album - Yesterday Betteh Pass Tiday?. Emmerson's new album which is currently sweeping across the country and in the Diaspora to rave reviews before launching is confirmed to play on 20th November 2009 in London. By both artistic and commercial standards Emmerson's new album is a smash hit. The Concert will include a number of high-profile artists in the United Kingdom including a performance by Floratic Lara Band Group and Sierra Leone's biggest DJ base of UN radio. As passionate humanitarian, Emmerson will perform in the spirit of harmony, peace and non-partisan fashion. Emmerson will perform his new Album - Yesterday betteh pass Tiday?

The Concert is being devised by Sierra Leone's young humanitarian Messeh Kamara who is working towards giving homeless and orphan children an opportunity for a safe life and a good future. The Concert is dedicated to helping children who are socially neglected and rejected in the society, with an aim for creating awareness of orphans and disabled people, and the overall humanitarian needs of Sierra Leone's children. Messeh Kamara said: "We are absolutely delighted with this Concert. Now that we can work together as a community we will be able to raise funding for specific project which will make a significant difference to the lives of many young people in Sierra Leone. We're very excited to work with Emmerson and DJ base while simultaneously doing work for the children and take part in nation building". The event is expected to be a huge draw, with many surprises for those in attendance. DJ Base who is currently in London said: "We, as artists and promoters, have offered 100% to supporting this effort and are excited to see the momentum behind the show. It's going to be a great event."

Some local political groups have said they will protest the Concert and organise a rivalry event on the same date. But the organisers have insisted that, this event had nothing to do with politics. "Music really has no barriers. There are no politics as far as music is concerned," one concert-goer said. It should be noted that Emmerson's upcoming visit to London is about community service, not politics. This Concert has being planned for a very long time, and had no link with Emmerson's new album. It is a coincidence that the Concert is happening now at the same time as Emmerson rock the nation with his new album. This event doesn't promote Emmerson's Album and it is not a mechanism for the organisers to make money. While there is nothing wrong with trying to fundraise off your musical icon, when billing an event as a chance for people to meet their fine artists, clearly the Salone Concert Live is a much more effective way to go about it. The organisers are not politicians, the target audience is not involved in politics, there is no one even remotely affiliated with any of the political parties involved with the planning of the event, and the planned structure of the event is not changing. Everyone knows what to expect when they attend the Concert - they aren't being soaked, a chance for the people to meet and dance with their loved artists. All general music groups, musicians are invited to participate in the event. The event will not include political speeches or placards, and security is well-manned for the night. Andrew Czezowski and Susan Carrington creators of The Fridge in Brixton have forged an innovative new partnership with the prestigious Alchemea College of Audio Engineering to re-launch it as a state-of-the-art live music venue hosting a unique course for 'Live Sound Training'. Equidistant to Brixton Tube with the O2 Academy (turn left out of the tube instead of right!), the Fridge is a theatre boasting a full size performance stage, proscenium arch, fantastic acoustics and perfect sightlines for all. Alchemea, who are making The Fridge the home of their new Live Sound Centre, are installing a world class PA system consisting of a d&b audiotechnik J-series PA system, Digidesign Venue Profile HD64 front of house console and a Midas XL3 Monitor desk.
