The turnout of people during the launching of the pro-APC musical album titled: ďGee Dem ChanceĒ, has been widely described as sorrowful and disgraceful, as President Ernest Bai Koroma and the citizens conspicuously boycotted the program.
Innocent, the pro-APC musician was faced with the shame of performing/launching in the middle of a virtually empty National Stadium on Saturday 26th December 2009, following a nationwide publicity.
Those who sympathized and attended the launching of the All Peopleís Congress (APC) musician only occupied stands ten (10) and sixteen (16), out of the twenty four (24) stands of the National Stadium.
The countryís musicians also boycotted the show, as the only popular musician who performed during the launching was Daddy Rhymes. Also, the ĎAPC Album Launchingí was blessed with not more than ten upcoming/underground musicians.
The most unfortunate side of the launching was the time when the musician was invited to perform the song titled: ďGee Dem ChanceĒ. The two stands containing people became considerably empty leaving the artist performing for the National Stadium.
Many of those who attended the show expressed regret for paying their Le5,000. ďIt would have been better if I had attended one of the carnivals around town instead of this mess,Ē one of the disgruntled guests commented whilst leaving the stadium in frustration.
It could be recalled that the organizers of the show widely publicized that several government functionaries, including President Koroma, Vice President Sam Sumana, First Lady Sia Nyama Koroma and Information Minister Ibrahim Kargbo, were going to grace the launching.
Not a single government functionary showed up at the Stadium.
