The National Publicity Secretariat of the ruling All Peopleís Congress (APC) party has sternly warned the National Chairman of the main opposition Sierra Leone Peopleís Party (SLPP), John Oponjo Benjamin.
The warning was made in a rejoinder to John Benjaminís New Yearís Message to the nation, in which the SLPP Chairman dilated on several issues, ranging from alleged political interference in the paramount chieftaincy elections to attacks launched on the SLPP by partisans believed to be linked with the APC.
"We want to use this opportunity to warn that the days of malicious propaganda and alarmist doomsday conspiracy theories in politics to incite and engender violence in order to forcibly take power are gone," the APC rejoinder reads.
Full text of the rejoinder is produced on page 9 of this edition.
