The ruling APC Party is reported to now be in serious dilemma over ACCís Tejan-Coleís indictment of Hon. Haja Afsatu Kabba with one faction condemning President for refusing to step in and save Kabba from what is now widely seen as a vicious witch-hunt to humiliate her. The other group wants understanding from Haja Afsatu Kabbaís huge groundswell of grassroot support. The duplicated counts by Abdul Tejan Cole as revealed by this newspaper yesterday, to the astonishment of the legal realm in the country, has just added to burning resentment in the country over the indictment of Kabba with the latterís popularity soaring as everyday goes by and the ACC Bossí credentials facing some serious need for rehabilitation.
The graphical chart showing her revenue-generating performance against her predecessors as published yesterday has been widely disseminated all over the country and beyond through the Internet and this is also fuelling the controversy with observers opining that such an astronomical revenue generation performance must have gone hand in hand with fiscal prudence, probity and transparency. Meanwhile two dissenting opinions on the Afsatu Kabba saga are inside Pages 2 and 15 of todayís edition. One is warning the President to beware of the Ides of March whilst the other calls for a show of understanding from APC partisan for their leader. The Anti Corruption Commission will be convening a Press Briefing tomorrow where they are expected to throw light on numerous issues such as duplicated counts and the serious allegations that ACCís key witness/investigator named Bashiru Konneh is a mole agent for the FISH MAFIA in country.
