For a very long time now, this newspaper has questioned antics of Hon. Emmanuel Tommy, the Opposition SLPPís Minority Leader in Parliament insofar as his propensity to sell-out the interests of his SLPP Party for that of President Koroma & the ruling APC.
Well, an April 6th 2010 article in a tabloid with close links to President Koroma has exposed Tommy as having a Le250,000,000 (Two Hundred and Fifty Million Leones) deal made in Year 2008 with President Koroma in which Tommy got Le250,000,000 cash in hand to complete a Government hospital for Kono that Tommy had allegedly abandoned halfway through completion.
Tommy, nicknamed as ďSell-Game TommyĒ because of his amazing propensity to sell out SLPP party to the ruling APC, is reported to have recently ďdeclaredĒ his intention to be the next President. This runs quite contrary to the desires of the sitting President and said declaration might have spurred exposure of the Le250,000,000 transaction.
During the exposure of Tommy by President Koroma in Kono, it is reported that Tommy tried to cover-up but the President was determined to expose him. A Satiric Cartoon on ĎSell-Gamismí and its effect on a democratic Sierra Leone is produced below whilst extracts of the original tabloid article is on the right of this page.

Ag Minority Leader of SLPP in Parliament, who doubles as a contractor, Hon. Emmanuel Tommy, has been found out to be working not only against the governmentís Agenda for Change but has openly flouted the authority of President Koroma in not carrying out work for which he has been paid two hundred and fifty million leones in 2008 and which he had vowed to complete before the beginning of this year. The corruption scandal was itself discovered by President Koroma during his recent tour of health facilities... It was in Kono that the deceitfulness of the SLPP Minority Leader was exposed. Since the moment the President stepped his foot in the hospital, there were complaints of a bad job having been done in the paid-for construction. Looking at the unfinished work, President Koroma put it to Hon. Emmanuel Tommy that he has not done the work he had been paid for to construct the maternity / childrenís wards, to which the Honourable replied that he had to divert the funds to build a toilet and fix the male and female wards.
"But in 2008, at a meeting in my office, you made a commitment that if two hundred and fifty million leones is given to you, the work will be completed by now," the President asserted.
Then the MP retorted, "I did as I was directed by the consultants".
Then the President said, "But the consultants were in that meeting when you made the commitment."
"No, Your Excellency, they were not present." said Tommy. But when the President insisted that it would be proven that the consultants were present, Hon. Tommy acceded that indeed they were present.¬† President Koroma responded: "Money was provided to you to do a particular job and in the meeting where you made the commitment the consultants were there; you were not paid to start other projects on your own. A superior body instructed you to do a job, and you accepted the directives of an inferior body. I canít accept this as an excuseÖ"
The President then asked Hon. Tommy to come along for further explanation; but before the inspection of the hospital was completed, the SLPP minority leader had disappeared into thin air with nowhere to be traced in the whole Kono district.
The next day, President Koroma left for Senegal. But the President is now back, and it is expected that this drama will continue to unfold as Hon.
Tommy is apparently in hot waters, as even the walls of parts of the building he has constructed were found to have cracks. In the female ward, a toilet he had insisted was completed was found to be in the contrary.
