According to reliable sources, it has been disclosed to members of the press that Zain Sierra Leone has been the highest GST contributor in January and February 2010. The company in January this year paid a total of Le 720 Million and a whopping Le 1.475 Billion in February (biggest payment so far)..

Zain in 2009 paid a total of over Thirty Five Billion Leones in various taxes to NRA and NATCOM.

As a leading Global Telecoms Company, Zain continues to introduce innovative products and services that distinguish it from its competitors. The addition of International awards for products like Worldfs first One Network and ZAP, plus the solid coverage and quality of its network, can only further show case Zainfs leadership consolidation in meeting the needs of Sierra Leoneans in a unique and innovative way.

The newly introduced Zap has catapulted Zain to another level. Zain won the inaugural GSMAfs 2010 eMobile Money for the Unbanked Servicef award for eZapf, its mobile commerce service. The announcement was made at the Global Mobile Awards, the industryfs leading annual prize ceremony, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Zain in Sierra Leone has also established quite a reputation for itself in terms of its CSR activities such as Build Our Nation, Zain Africa Challenge, significant donations to community projects like the Wilberforce Health Centre, donation to St Georges Old Peoplefs Home and several similar institutions in the Regions on Independence Day last year.

Zain believes in giving back to its communities and several have benefited from initiatives launched. According to the Kelvin Kellie, Zainfs Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications,"Our mission is to re-humanize business, to create business romance within our community through a commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility.@

At Zain, Corporate Social Responsibility is about how we manage our business processes in a socially and environmentally responsible way to produce a positive impact on society and our stakeholders, now and in the future.

Our CSR initiatives are driven by issues rather than image. Empathy, respect and participation are what motivate us. And while we see CSR as a worthy social goal, we also believe that it is a sound business proposition as contributing to social and economic well-being will ultimately benefit all businesses. CSR is simply the new business reality, and at Zain we embrace it, guaranteeing sustainable success and prosperity for all"

Zain has a commercial presence in 23 countries across the Middle East and African with over 13,000 employees providing a comprehensive range of mobile voice and data services to over 72.5 million active individual and business customers as of December 31, 2009
