Executive Director of the Sierra Leone Maritime Administration (SLMA) Philip Lukuley in an exclusive interview with this writer has refuted claims of embezzling projects funds.
"I donĀft receive or sign for project funds, all funds in respect of the West Africa project are paid to the government through the Ministry of Finance. It shows that those saying that I have chopped the Ecowas project money donĀft know the process of donor transaction with government, as cheques are not written in the name of individuals, but written in name the government of Sierra Leone," Philip Lukuley disclosed.

He said his claim is verifiable by those who care to know rather than distorting the fact to whip up ill-sentiments against him.
About the flag of convenience license fees the executive of SLMA said that remittances of cheques are also made up to the Minister of Finance, Dr.Samura Kamara.
"There is no way for me to pilfer flag of convenience fees except if somebody is suggesting that I have done so in connivance with the Minister of Finance."
He challenged those making what he regarded as damaging allegation about his person to come out with the rock solid evidence.
Philip Lukuley dismisses as preposterous the claims that he has gone into a deal with EcoBank to rent the SLMA building.
"How is this possible for goodness sake?" He questioned and retorted that "this government must be lame duck to allow me rent a government building but I know that is not the case except in the imagination of my detractors whose intentions are clear to the public..."
Philip Lukuley pointed out that all inaccuracies printed about him could have been avoided if they had cross checked with me, "so that I could have shown them documents to disabuse them of the fake information peddled about me."Ā
