Zain, a household name in the Sierra Leone mobile telecommunication industry, in spite of all its previous commendable contributions towards painting education in flying colors seems unexhausted despite seeing positive results. Now to demonstrate that they are uncontestable in the advancement of education with others, Zain recently launched the

Zains Youth Club for learners, in order to capacitate and ease their academic works.

According to the companys Segment Manager, John Koroma, the Youth Club targets mainly pupils, students, and their respective administrative staffs.

These valued beneficiaries, who must be Zain subscribers, according to specifications of this unique product can call any other Zain number for as low as one unit per minute between 12 midnight and 2 am.

The Club members can also call another member for three units per minute right round the clock, for six units per minutes between 5 am and 5 pm, and at no charge from 2 am to 5 pm.

They can browse the internet using their phone for a minimal 10 units per megabyte which indisputably will broaden the knowledge base of students due to the accessibility to vital updated learning materials. Moreover, with cognizance of the importance of texting in modern information technology, Zain has made it possible for Youth Club members to send SMS for a next to nothing 2.5 units per minute.

Zain Public Relations Executive, June Rose-Johnson, whose media expertise has brought the goodwill of her institution into Sierra Leones educational sector, says this is the best and cheapest offer Zain has ever championed in the country. "We have always redeemed the academic world in our operative communities", June bluffed.

She also disclosed that very soon Zain will dish out scholarships to Club members.

Zain according to Rose- Johnson believes that by contributing to education of communities in which they operate will assist to speed their developments. Thus an input into Sierra Leones educational system she stressed is definitely going to project Africa.

Local communities in which Zain operates can attest to this fact because they have had many of their deprived learning institutions supported with learning structures and materials including classrooms, books, scholarships, and volunteered teaches.

Besides promoting education locally, Zain has propagated a special and unique quiz competition for over 100 Anglophone Universities in which at least one million United State dollars is spent annually to ensure its successful out come.

Zain Africa Challenge 2010 competition is currently taking place in Kampala, Uganda where participating universities and their students will not only be taking home trophies and honor but equally cash.
