APC imports Liberian thugs


Local tabloid reports have stated that the Secretary General of the opposition SLPP, Jacob Jusu Saffa has pointed accusing fingers at the ruling APC party for commissioning a group of Liberia nationals, he classed as thugs, to Constituency 91, Pujehun District ahead of the parliament bye-election slated for May 8 this year.  This accusation is said to have also been confirmed by PMDC representatives in that region.  Various quarters reports say have held the Deputy Minister of Labour and Industrial Relations, Moijueh Kaikai responsible for this political subversion. 

 

RUFP asks for its own share

 

Local tabloids have intimated that the Interim Chairman and Leader of the Revolutionary United Front Party (RUFP), Eldred Collins has requested for their own share of the Peace Building Fund.  He is alleged to have said that the fund, forming part of the package as signed in the Lome Peace Accord of 1999 should be extended to his party.  This according to reports is because the RUFP chairman says they form part of the warring factions and victims of the concluded decade-old senseless rebel war in Sierra Leone.  Collins is said to making this demand to raise funds for the party that is in serious financial crisis to help in accomplishing some in-house preparations ahead of 2012.

 

Iran donates medical equipments to Sierra Leone 

 

The Iranian Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Dr. Nasratollah Milikie, on behalf of his country to boost the crippling health sector in the country has reportedly donated two dialysis machines and one container of other medical equipments to the Government of Sierra Leone.  The Ambassador is reported of revealing that very soon six Sierra Leonean health experts will leave the shores of Sierra Leone for further training in Iran.


Modern High School gets Boarding Facilities

 

One of the renowned private schools in Freetown, Modern High School is reported to be now well equipped to offer boarding home services to pupils come next academic year.  Parents and guardians are said to have put foreword the demand to the schools authorities for the boarding facility in order to facilitate students academic performance by tackling transportation and accommodation inconveniences.  The proprietress of the School, Mrs. Helen Keili is reported as saying that the boarding home will be ready by September 20th this year.

 

Driver escapes with State vehicle


A driver has reportedly escaped with a new Toyota Hilux assigned to the Port Loko Government Hospital.  The incident is said to have occurred when the Chief Medical Superintendent, Dr. James Lebbie and his Deputy, Dr. Alhassan Sesay entrusted the vehicle in one of the hospital drivers for onwards transmission to Port Loko. According to reports, on their way the driver tricked his assistant at Waterloo and diverted the vehicle in another direction.  The assistant who was abandoned at Waterloo is said to be helping the Police to investigate the matter.

 

President Koroma sacks two Ambassadors


President Ernest Bai Koroma is reported to have ordered the immediate recall of Sierra Leone Ambassador to China, Dr. Abdul Karim Koroma following alleged rape allegations against his Confidential Secretary.  In similar development, Sierra Leone Ambassador to Russia, Dr. Sallieu M. Turays has been reportedly sacked for allegedly condoning the persistent acts of rape committed by his son against Russian blonds in Moscow.

 

Kambui Eagles humbles Port Authority


The football giants of the east, Kambui Eagle are reported to have defeated the waterside boys, Port Authority 3-0 in the on going Premier League matches last Saturday at the Kenema Town Playing Field.  According to reports, analysts suggest that the defeat will seriously dent Ports chances in the very keenly contested matches.
