Senior executive members of the National Union of APC Students led by their President, Alie Conteh, yesterday told Awareness Times that they were at the Courts to show solidarity with a woman they all looked upon as "our mother".
The students stated that no-one had the ability to stop them from being by the side of the indicted minister and indeed they proved their versatility at doing just that when although hundreds of women and other APC youths could not enter the Courts because of the Police barricade, they managed to not only enter the building but go right into the well of the courtroom itself where they took turns at hugging and shaking the hands of Haja Afsatu Kabba before the trial started.
After the matter was adjourned, dozens of University students, flanked Haja Afsatu Kabba and walked with her from the Courtroom down the stairs into the streets where they were greeted by a tumultuous welcome from the mammoth gathering outside. The gathering itself had patiently waited for hours until the case was adjourned. It included, amputees, old women and youths. Many of them were decked in bright red colours.
