She said as usual, the Day of the African child is commemorated on 16th June each year, adding that it is a concept conceived in South Africa in order to reflect on the contribution that children can make to change the status quo of a society. She went on that June 16 has been a day set aside to recognize the value of children regardless of their personal circumstances.

Madam Saidu further revealed that LMC operations in Lunsar will yield the Government over $.200,000,000 (Two Hundred Million United States Dollars) in a period of ten year, adding that these operations would further inject an additional $.40,000,000 (Forty Million US Dollars) each year as a form of mining operation expenses.

Lawyer Solomon explained that with the new Mines and Minerals Act, the percentage would be disbursed in two folds. The first fold of 50% would go to stakeholders including Paramount Chiefs (that is; 20% for constituency fund, 10% for Honorable, 10% for Maforki, 10% for Port Loko) and the second fold of 50% will go as surface rent to Landowners.
