The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Africa who is also the Senior Managing Director of Bharti Airtel, an international mobile telecommunications company that has bought over Zain-Africa, Mr. Manoj Kholi is expected to arrive in Sierra Leone on the 5th July 2010.  The CEOs visit is a sequel to the purchase of the leading Africa Mobile Company operating in 15 countries on the continent, Zain-Africa by Bharti Airtel.

This was disclosed to the press by the Head of Corporate Affairs and Communication, Mr. Kelvin Kellie who told journalists that Mr. Kholi will be heartily welcomed by Zain staff and other important stakeholders on his arrival at the Lungi International Airport on the 5th July 2010.  He also disclosed that series of activities have been outlined by Zain management for the two-day visit of Bharti Airtel CEO.

Mr. Kellie informed the press that the purpose of Bharti Airtels CEO is to asses the strength, quality of Zain as well as the companys relationship with the operating community in Sierra Leone.  He noted that CEO Manoj Kholis visit is the very first by a high ranking executive member of Bharti Airtel to Sierra Leone, adding that during his short spell in the country, Mr. Kholi will meet with many stakeholders including ministers of government, members of the Fourth Estate and the President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma to discuss the vision and way forward for entrepreneurship of Bharti Airtel as they take over Zain operations in Africa.  He will also use the occasion as an opportunity to explain to the Sierra Leone community the essence and importance of the Bharti Airtel brand, he further informed.

He said in order to satisfy Zain subscribers, a lot of activities will be undertaken with the CEO to encourage customers to accept the new brand that will also be providing quality services with innovative technology.  Zain remains the No. 1 mobile service provider on the Sierra Leone Market in spite of the changes in brand name, he said.

He concluded by admonishing subscribers to remain connected to the mobile network provider for affordable, quality service and innovative technology.  He said as part of their corporate social responsibilities Zain has created many opportunities for their local communities.
