Dr. Dennis Sandy conducts the morning services from 8am to 9am everyday which he has reportedly made compulsory even for non Christians. This has caused dissatisfaction amongst Muslim staff members who see the ministers move as trampling on their religious rights.

The development plan for Makeni City for 2010-2012 facilitated by ENCISS has now come to fruition according to information filtering in.  To review the plan, a radio discuss was said to have been held and a survey conducted with local and international NGOs, Civil Society Organization and other stakeholders in that city.  The draft copy of the document reportedly presented by the development officer of the Makeni City Council, Mr. Nyuma Maningo has also been thoroughly assessed by council members in a one day forum.  The council authorities have commended ENCISS for their wonderful job.

Local Councils Intensify Tax Collection

Tax Collectors through out the country with support from local police are vigilantly checking people for local tax receipts, reports say. Council authorities both in Freetown and the provinces have mounted check points in their respective communities to check people above eighteen years to produce receipts or pay for them upfront.  This has reportedly resulted in people being unduly molested and embarrassed by the tax collectors.  But the authorities claim it is the only way to curtail default, especially in the city where residents are not used to paying local taxes.
