In a bid to encourage subscribers, one of Sierra Leones leading GSM providers, Africell on Tuesday 17th August, 2010 distributed prizes to 25 subscribers who emerged winners of the first draw of FIND THE HIDDEN TREASURE promotion at the companys Wilberforce headquarters in Freetown. The promotion is held live at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Cooperation (SLBC) every evening at about 8pm; and it is also aired in many radio stations throughout the country.

At the presentation ceremony in a press conference that attracted both winners and well wishers, the Head of Section, Events and Sponsor of the Hidden Treasure Promotion Arthur B. Kallon said Africell always believes in giving back to the people, noting that it was part of their corporate social responsibility. He disclosed that whatever they earn should be shared with their subscribers.

Mr. Kallon informed the audience that the promotion was very easy to win by subscribers  as they stand to win up to Le20,000,000 (Twenty million leones) with other consolation prizes like  freezer, television, generator and  top up card.  He urged all Africall subscribers to just send blank SMS to 777 as many times as possible to stand better chances of wining.

The marketing officer of Africell, Ngadi Josephine Kargbo also told the winners that they deserved all the good opportunity which Africell has. According to her, the promotion which started on the 11th August will continue till the end of the Ramanda month. She said the first set that won the prizes were those who grabbed the opportunity from the 11th to 15th August, and that another batch will soon receive similar prizes.

She also spoke of the Ramadan Prayer and Quaranic Recitation promotion as according to her all subscribers need to do is to simply send blank SMS to 7120 or SUB to 7120 to be informed of the daily prayer time with an opportunity to listen to Surahs from the Quran. She disclosed that the two grand prize winners of the promotion will be sent to Mecca after the draw.

The most attractive winner of the Hidden Treasure promotion was Mr. Ibrahim Sesay who received a cheque of Twenty Million Leones. All the winners expressed thanks to Africell for cushioning their financial base.
