A very dramatic scenario on Friday 20th¬†August 2010 occurred at the Ministry of Health and Sanitation at the Youyi Building in Freetown, when the entire ministryís officials including the Deputy Minister ĎBalancedí a group of irate physically handicapped persons who were being owed monies for services rendered to the Ministry. The Emerson song ĎNa for Balanceí was tactically applied by all Ministry staff as the cripples launched a fierce attack for their four months backlogs wages which the government still owes¬† them for a contract that was awarded to them by the Vice President¬† Sam Sumana to label or stamp the free health care drugs. Although this reporter also made a tactical withdrawal from the desperate cripples who had vowed to demonstrate ďangerĒ after several fruitless promises from the ministryís authorities, sources from the Ministry say that on the day before, Thursday 19 August 2010, over 20 cripples formidably stormed the Ministry on Thursday and placed the Director of Support Services, Mr. Sheku Kamara under siege for delay of payment of their back logs. The captive Mr. Kamara according to our source was rescued by the Deputy Minister and the Director of Attitudinal Behavioral change (ABC) Philip Conteh after three hours. The freed man and his rescuers made their last promise that Friday at about 10:00am the disabled will receive their deserved amount our source disclosed. On that Friday this reporter surveillance the Ministry of Health and Sanitation but no senior ministry official was found. The cripples upon noticing that none of the promised authorities were¬† within the precincts of Youyi building, ordered everybody including security guards, at the ministry to vacate the premises by 3:00pm which order was duly complied with. However, no physical damage occured by the irate cripples.
