One of the leading money transfer institutions in Sierra Leone, Splash-Sierra Leone on 14th September 2010 donated food items and School furniture worth thousands of United States Dollars to the Milton Margai School for the Blind on Wilkinson Road in Freetown.

The gifts include; 16 standard benches that will sit 80 pupils of the school, 5 bags of rice and 25 gallons of cooking oil. Accordingly, more was promised in the coming months.

Presenting the gift to the school, the Managing Director of Splash-Sierra Leone, Michael Foley noted that the donation is in line with the institutions First Anniversary. The gift is borne out of our concern and interest in improving the lot of the vulnerable sections of the human resource base of the country, Mr Foley said.

Splash-Salone according to the MD was founded in September 2009, noting that since then the institution has excelled greatly with about 50,000 registered clients across the country and over 150 outlets scattered all over the country rendering services to their clients. He said so far, they have achieved their first objective in the first year of their operations, which is to establish as a viable and trustworthy money transfer institution. With that on our score card, we are now ready to demonstrate our corporate responsibility with focus on the vulnerable in society, the MD said.

Receiving the donation, the Acting Headmaster of Milton Margai School for the Blind, Albert Sandy commended the management and staff of Splash-Sierra Leone for the donation and expressed deep appreciation on behalf of the pupils, while hoping that the relationship so established will continue between the school and the company. He described the donation as timely, because according to him, they were running out of food in the wake of the new academic year. We can happily re-open school with confidence that there enough to eat and furniture to sit our pupils, he said. He informed that school has produced many graduates who are now working in reputable institutions in the country and they are still grooming more potential human resources to join the outer world. He on behalf of the Board and Management of the school thanked Splash-Salone for their support and prayed for the institutions continued prosperity so that in his words, you can provide more for our children.
