The Marlon Sesay Foundation, a non political organization based in the United Kingdom and in Sierra Leone will kick-start a Free On-line Education, Sponsorship and Development Programme for students across the country. This was revealed by the Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Melon Sesay at a press conference held at the foundations head office on Ecowas Street in Freetown.

According to Mr. Sesay, he had been out of the country for about 20 years working with other nationals, helping other countries to develop their economies.I think its hard time I come back home and render my support to my people, he said, pointing out that since he left the country he had not seen much developments as the city still remains the same while the people continue to live in poverty. With support from my colleagues in the foundation we will create a difference in the lives of the youth and the people of Sierra Leone, he assured.

He continued by stating that they will help youth, persons with disabilities, and children amongst others, across the country in providing free on-line education, on-the-job training (OJT)) and others, adding that the foundation will provide all the required facilities undergoing the classes. We have partners in India, UK, and other parts of the world that will be helping in administering lecture to students on-line, he disclosed.

Mr. Sesay further revealed that he will be partnering with higher institutions in the country in order to actualize his dream for the country. He disclosed that his foundation has been paying school fees for children in the Western Area, and supporting a cross section of persons with disability in the country for the past years and the programme is ongoing. He added that the foundation has requisite licenses to operate in America and Sierra Leone.

The Chairman Board of Directors, Jabez B. Rogers-Wright also assured Sierra Leoneans of the foundations support to change things around with support to students across the nation, in order to boost education in the country. He used the opportunity to announce the date for the official launching of the foundation scheduled for Saturday, 18th September 2010 at the Robert Street Community Center at 17:00 hours in Freetown.
