The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of International Insurance Company (SL) Limited, Nduka O. Anyaso, recently qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London.

Consequently, he has been elected by the Board of the Institute into the revered elite group of Chartered Insurance Institute of London, which was conveyed to him in a letter from the Secretary of the Fellowship Board of the Institute, Ms. Rebecca Fletcher, taking effect from the 1st of October, 2010. By this professional attainment, Mr. Anyaso has thus, become one of the few insurance practitioners that are entitled to use the letters FCII (Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute) after their names. He actually qualified as a Chartered Insurer in 1992, with an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London (ACII) and in 1993, was elected an Associate of the Insurance Institute of Nigeria (AIIN).

It would be recalled that Mr. Anyaso’s career in Insurance started after he graduated from the University of Lagos in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Insurance and worked for several Insurance Companies in Nigeria, which included - Niger Insurance Plc, Admiral Insurance Company and Platinum Insurance Brokers among others.

He ventured into the management of inter-continental insurance business, when he left Nigeria to set-up and become the pioneer Managing Director/CEO of International Insurance Company Limited, Banjul, The Gambia in 2001; and in 2003, he started IIC (SL) Limited as the pioneer Managing Director/CEO, growing the company to become one of the big players in Sierra Leone’s insurance industry. In recognition of his contribution to the insurance industry in Sierra Leone, His Excellency, the President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma appointed Mr. Anyaso to serve on the Board of the Sierra Leone Insurance Commission.

In addition, he has helped to set up International Insurance Company in Guinea and Liberia, and they all are strong and doing well contributing to the socio-economic development of the various countries.

His pedigree in the application of the principles and practice of Insurance ethics and ethos by IIC is well acknowledged in international insurance circles. In addition, Mr. Anyaso’s scholarly disposition as a resource fellow and author of two books in insurance, as well as his special knack in setting-up profitable insurance entities in whichever clime, were all part of what earned him the coveted Fellowship of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
