Chief Brima Kargbo, the Mayor for Kenema City has applauded the efforts of the youth in developmental activities within the township, especially the support to make a facelift of the city. He said without youth support at the fore front, development can not visit any area. He boasted that he and his people are ready for development now and forever with support from the youth.
Chief Kargbo was updating Council Staff and people of Kenema City on the developmental activities taking place within the city at their Conference Room, Maxwell Kobe Street last week. He expressed his appreciation for the gathering, while calling on councilors to work concertedly to achieve their goals.
He also called on all to maintain the first position in developmental activities the council has by giving the city a beautiful look. “Developing Kenema City is not anything difficult if we can put all hands on deck and focus on developmental strides,” he encouraged them, while disclosing that a 4.5 billion Leones project is on the way for the completion and rehabilitation of many unfinished projects in Kenema town. He said Kenema can now boast of a standard plaza, about eighty-nine culverts and bridges, a good number of markets and health centers, and that with the construction of roads within the city, they can easily achieve their goals. “This can only be done if the partnership between the councilors and the youth continue to bear good fruits,” he admonished.
In his contribution, Hon. Mathew Nyuma of Constituency 09 also extended his profound gratitude to the council for developing the town. He described the Kenema Council as the most rapidly transforming council in the country. He used the forum as an opportunity to call on colleague parliamentarians within the district to come forward and work for the sake of posterity, adding that with concerted efforts they can not stop at nothing to achieve their aims and objectives.
