One of Sierra Leone’s leading mining companies, the African Minerals has brought another locomotive train to be added to their operational machinery. On Friday 29th October 2010, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma was taken on a conducted tour of the equipment at the Queen Elizabeth II Quay in Freetown for inspection.
Explaining about the locomotive, the company’s Managing Director, Moseray Fadika impressed it on President Koroma that the equipments were from credible companies in South Africa, Malaysia and Japan, and that they would be used to ensure easy transportation of materials from one site to another to enhance the smooth operations of the company.
According to the Media and Public Relations Manager, Anthony Navo (Jnr), the company at the moment was on the construction of the roads and rail network to see how best they can fast track the process for mining to begin at the various sites.
In response, President Koroma expressed happiness over the investment moves by the African Minerals. He congratulated and wished them success in their mining venture.
President Koroma’s entourage included the Minister of Transportation and Aviation, Momodu Pat-Sowe and the Presidential Affairs Minister, Alpha Kanu.
