The All Stars Musicians of Sierra Leone, as a sign of respect to His Excellency Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, President and Father of the Nation are wishing him a happy Birthday and many good returns on the occasion of the celebration of his natal day today.

According to the Chairman of the All Stars Musicians, Daddy Saj, he would however like to make it clear that as Musicians, they hold no brief against either the President or the government as some people may perceive their songs to be of late.

Daddy Saj stated that the All Stars Musicians may also like to make it clear that as citizens of Sierra Leone, they are more or less representing the voice of the voiceless majority, who see themselves as being maginalized by the system because of the absence of adequate social services and an affordable means of living as prescribed by the national constitution.

According to Saj, they themselves are part of this voiceless majority, who have seen and experienced neglect and destitution over the years.

"Our music is rather a wake up call on government to the cries and concerns of its citizens, which in effect provides it the opportunity to be able to factor in its policies the areas of concern already highlighted through our music." Daddy Saj noted.

He therefore maintained that the lyrics of their musics are basically meant to appropriately send out these messages and should not be misunderstood as political rethorics, aimed at undermining the credibility and popularity of the President or the Government.

"It is in this vain, I want to express gratitude to His Excellency the President and government of Sierra Leone for its show of understanding and tolerance on the expression of Freedom of Speech in the country." the Chairman noted.

Chairman Saj therefore placed on record the musicians recognition of the fact that this government is the first in the history of Sierra Leone that has accepted and tolerated critical remarks be it through the mass media or through music without recourse to muzzling.

They also recognises the fact that this is so accepted because His Excellency the President and his government are believers in the principles of democracy, and are surely determined to encourage the full participation of its citizenry in this process so as to engender collective action for the development of this nation.

"We love Sierra Leone. There is no other place we can call home other than our dear Mother Sierra Leone. Seeing it develop and prosper for the good of all and sundry is our wish at all times. We cannot therefore be seen as undermining this nationalistic feeling under the guise of any political or selfish agenda. We are therefore wishing the President a very happy birthday and a prosperous and successful end of tenure." Daddy Saj assured.

The All Stars Musician comprises top local musicians, which include Daddy Saj, Emmerson Bockarie, Baw Wow Society, K-Man, Succulent, C-Jay, Vida, Willie Jay, Abu Yama, One Pot Sojas, etc. etc.
