The Diaspora Initiative of North America (DIANA) and Madam Muscuda Stevens John are all set to officially launch the Siaka P. Stevens Presidential Centre.
The launching ceremony will take place on the 20th November 2010 at the Georgia World Congress Center, 285 Andrew Young International Blvd, Room B-401, Atlanta, GA 30313.
One of the organizers of the launch, Mr. Unisa I.B. Kanu, in an email sent to this medium, said the ceremony is aimed at fostering discussions among various Sierra Leoneans residing in the Diaspora.
During the launch, he continued, Sierra Leoneans would be opportune to receive answers to most, if not all, of the questions they have in mind, especially as related to the stewardship of the late president Siaka Stevens.
Mr. Kanu used the forum as an opportunity to welcome intending participants to the ceremony, whilst assuring that it will be a memorable event.
He stressed that the event will be interactive and that participants will have the opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones.
Invitation letters, he pointed out, have already been dished out to various participants. “Those who are yet to receive their letters are encouraged to be more patient as they will soon get theirs,” Kanu admonished.
He advised participants who may need accommodation, to contact the board of Diaspora Initiative of North America so that the necessary arrangements would be initiated.
Mayor of the Freetown Municipality, Herbert George Williams, is said to have consented to grace the occasion.
Guest Speaker is Dr Evan Williams, Associate Professor at Morehouse School of Medicine.
Mr. Kanu said participants should contact the following people for further enquiries.
