Sunday 5th December 2010 marks twenty five years since the erstwhile Minister of Education and Technology, Dr. Alpha Wurie tied the marriage knots with his dearly loved wife, Isata Mammy-Iye Sillah.
Memories of the grand and auspicious wedding reception held at the Cape Sierra Hotel on the 5th December 1985 remain fresh in the minds of guests at the occasion.
By then Dr. Alpha Wurie, who is widely believed to be the leading aspirant in the flagbearer race of the main opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), was only thirty (30) years old, whilst the beautiful and elegant Isata was in her enviable early twenties, precisely twenty three (23) years old. History have it indelible sketch that prior to knotting of marital ribbons God the omnipotent, omnipresent and most revered was solicited in prayers to grace the union.
