Alusine Sesay of Premier News and Daphnie Grants of the Kallone Radio will be traveling to Lagos, Nigeria to watch the MTV Africa Award dubbed Airtel MAMA. The two journalists competed with others in giving best coverage on MAMA Airtel in Sierra Leone. They were graciously awarded by Airtel Management on the evening of Sunday 5th December 2010 at the Lumley Beach based on percentage scores.

Beside the journalists, two other subscribers, Aruna Yambasu with 076 347690 and an unknown subscriber with 076 619899 also emerged as winners of the Airtel MAMA tickets to Lagos.

It could be recalled that two subscribers won tickets last month in a similar draw that was conducted at the same venue in Freetown. Subscribers also won themselves cash, plasma televisions, Airtel recharge cards, mobile phones, deep freezers and home theatres in both draws.

Airtel Commercial Director in Sierra Leone, Keith Tukei said they were very close to the community people and they believe in sharing with them. We always share our profits with subscribers through our corporate social responsibility, he maintained. He informed that at Airtel, they always provide once in a life time opportunities for their subscribers. He disclosed that the MAMA Africa Award MTV is going to bring together many prominent musicians from the United States of America, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and other places to perform live in Lagos, Nigeria on Saturday 11th December, 2010.  He said this is a special opportunity.

The Public Relations Executive, June Rose Johnson said the winners and journalists are going to be given VIP treatment with pocket allowance of Five Hundred US Dollars each, a free accommodation including feeding and many other facilities. She also disclosed that the draw is meant for all subscribers by only entering their name and send to 6262 to go to Lagos for just 10 units.

She ended by appealing to other subscribers to try similar chance next time once a promotion comes out. She revealed that Airtel believes in freedom, equity, reality, reliability and quality for subscribers.
