A book titled Echo of Voice has been launched in Sierra Leone. The book authored by the late Logie Wright was formally launched by Mr. Tani Pratt on Tuesday 3rd¬†May 2011 at the British Council Hall, Tower Hill in Freetown.
It could be recalled that Logie Wright died ten (10) years ago.
Mrs. Daphne Pratt, sister of the author, expressed admiration for her brother, as according to her, the late man was a quiet person that lived his life with music. ďHe taught music at the Milton Margai College for 30 years,Ē she disclosed, adding that her late brother immensely contributed towards composing the countryís national anthem.
ďI will never forget the several strides of my brother towards the development of Sierra Leone,Ē she said, noting that he was very patriotic and hardworking.
|Mrs. Lulu Wright
Mrs. Lulu Wright, wife of the late author described her late husband as a man that matches his words with actions. According to her, the late man was the first to lecture music at the Milton Margai College Ė 1961 to 1988. ďMy late husband was a professional in the field of sweet and nice music,Ē she said, adding that he was one of the founding members of Balanta Music Academy, which now trains a lot of people in music.¬† She said her husband was disciplined and very caring, adding that he responsibly brought up her children.
ďMy husband is no more but his spirit is still with me,Ē she said, while expressing hopes that the soul of her husband would be happy wherever he is for the great work his family has done.
Formally launching the book, Mr. Tani Pratt thanked the late manís wife and the entire family for their effort in making the book launch a reality. He said the late man spent ample time doing music, noting that beneficiaries of his lectures would live to remember him.
