Temnes in SLPP Endorse JOB for Re-Election

One local tabloid which is now well known as being an integral part of the Pa.O.Pa Squads relentless attempts to defame the gentleman acting as National Chairman & Leader of the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party, recently published that the gentleman, John Oponjo Benjamin, had roundly insulted members of one of Sierra Leones main tribal groupings, the Temnes during a meeting with SLPP stalwarts in Kenema. However, according to many of those who were present at the said meeting, no such utterance was ever made by Benjamin. The tabloid had published a lie.

Like he always does when faced with low-down insults and false allegations against his person, John Benjamin had treated the anti-Temne allegation with stoic contempt and refused to dignify it with a response. Last weekend, it was made very clear to all concerned that the Temnes within the SLPP were also not buying into the allegation when they virtually lined up to endorse John Benjamin during several meetings across the country.

SLPP Chairman: John Benjamin

Ranging from Chief Somano Kapen who last Friday in Moyamba and Saturday in Mattru-Jong and again Saturday in Bo City, publicly endorsed John Benjamin for the SLPP leadership position all the way to Dr. Kadi Sesay who has also publicly endorsed John Benjamin yesterday Sunday 3rd July 2011 in Kailahun, Temnes within the Sierra Leone Peoples Party are speaking with a very loud and clear voice. The man to chair the SLPP for the next two years is no other person but John Oponjo Benjamin.

More details including exclusive interviews will soon follow. Do not miss the exclusive on why Chief Somano Kapen says he is no longer going to contest against John Benjamin for the position of SLPP National Chairman and Leader. We will also have an exclusive insight into why John Benjamin tells Awareness Times that he is enjoying the close synergy currently existing between himself and his Temne SLPP brother, Chief Somano Kapen who is currently acting as his Deputy within the SLPP Executive.
