PUBLIC NOTICE: Freetown: October 3, 2011, Four years have rolled since the President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma took over the reins of Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone and the establishment of the Open Government Initiative (OGI) a year later. The OGI mandate is to bring government closer to its people and the people closer to government to provide information free flow on the activities of government for transparency and accountability. The OGI had conducted over 21 successful town hall meetings targeting the three arms of government i.e the Executive, the Legislative and the judiciary where citizens had the opportunity to ask their leaders boarding the development of their communities.
In view of the above, OGI has decided to conduct a Citizens perception survey known as the Citizensí Report Card to evaluate the four years performance of this government using the agenda for change line ministries as an¬† indicator for appraisal.
This exercise will be a nation wide approach targeting thirty respondents from each chiefdom for all the 149, and the western urban and rural districts. Participants are expected to give their candid opinions objectively about their views on the successes and challenges of this government.
The Civil Society and Media will be given the mandate to administer the questionnaires that will be developed by an independent body both national and international including the strategic policy unit (SPU). The public is kindly appealed to fully cooperate with this exercise so that the process becomes credible.
