Sierra Leone President Ernest Bai Koroma is in the Guinean capital Conakry on an official one day visit. President Koroma will hold mutual talks with his Guinean counterpart President Alpha Conde.

The Sierra Leone delegation, which left Freetown yesterday Thursday October 13, 2011, is expected to deliberate, among other things, on the mandate of the Mano River Union (MRU), according to a State House press release.

Reports say the visit is being made to further initiate bilateral talks between Heads of States of sister countries so as to deliberate on vital sub-regional issues, ranging from common boundaries, security to trade. According to the press release, talks at the meetings will also table series of inter-ministerial discussions amongst host ministers and their Sierra Leonean counterparts, all gearing towards achieving the set goal of the visit and the MRU.

The Sierra Leone entourage to Conakry comprises of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister, Joseph Bandabla Dauda, the Minister of Information and Communication and Government Spokesman, Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, the Political Public Affairs Minister, Alhaji Alpha Kanu, the Minister of Defence Rtd. Major Paolo Conteh and the Minister of Works Housing and Infrastructure, Alimamy P. Koroma.

The Chief of Defence Staff Brigadier General Robert Yira Koroma and other members of the security sector are also part of the delegation.

President Koroma is expected back home today Friday October 14, 2011, the press release confirmed.
