Sierra Leoneans In The Gambia Launch Kemoh Fadika Fans Club

THE GAMBIA: Majority of over 3,000 Sierra Leoneans that lived in the Gambia over the weekend launched their self initiative THE KEMOH FADIKA FANS CLUB- in honour and appreciation of Sierra Leones High Commissioner to the Gambia H.E Mohamed Kemoh Fadika at his residence in Fajara. The occasion that did bring most citizens together with one spirit, mind and patriotism was graced by among other distinguished personalities, the Cuban Ambassador to the Gambia, Ines Fors Fernandez, Dr. Ulric Jones, United Nations Specialist, Dr. Sidi M.A Mboge, The Honorary Consul of the Royal Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. and Mrs. Nana Anderson and special Guest of Honor Rebecca Riley Bensouda.


Giving her opening statement, the Head of Chancery Fatmata Kargbo said, that the coming into being of the Kemoh Fadika Fans Club, was somebodys big dream. An individual she added that richly admired High Commissioner Mohamed Kemoh Fadikas courage, love, understanding and sympathy for his fellow citizens.

 

In short, said Mdm. Kargbo, the author Mr. Deen Saccoh referred to H.E Kemoh Fadika as a down to earth person, regardless of his position. The High Commissioner, Mr. Saccoh said had a soft spot for his fellow citizens in the Gambia, encouraging them to come together as a family. Giving a brief history of the Fans Club, the founder and godfather Yusuf Saccoh informed that it was founded on July 4th 2011, to foster peace and patriotism among all tribes in the Fans Club.

The Kemoh Fadika Fans Club is non political and cut across all tribes he said. He added that the High Commissioner has since his arrival in The Gambia been a blessing to all and that many changes has been witnessed..


Commenting on Peace and unity among Sierra Leoneans, Mdm.K Jalloh, labeled the occasion as history making, saying that it brings nothing but joy to the mind and foster peace among citizens. When an individual has done well for the recognition and development of his country, he or she deserves to be openly acknowledged. The time is now for all Sierra Leoneans to preach peace country wide she maintained. Speaking on the theme: Unity and Peace the Guest Speaker Dr. Allieu Badara Taal, a Gambian who obtained his secondary education in Freetown, noted that peace itself is tolerance and it is so vital an issue that it cannot be underestimated. He named virtue, justice, tolerance and knowledge as pre- elements of peace. If the animals can cross borders freely, then why cant human beings he asked.

 

Launching the Fans Club, H.E Mohamed Kemoh Fadika commonly known as WAJU WAJU but preferred to be called The PA said he is in The Gambia as Ambassador of Sierra Leones under the leadership of Dr Ernest Bai Koroma and not the APC. The Fans Club he informed is in no way his making and must be void of politics. I am a man that believes in the philosophy that you should do unto others as you wish they do unto you He stressed.

 

He advised that the Fans Club must be a charitable organization that is opened to all and sundry, as there is need to help the needy in the areas of scholarships and other related assistances. The Kemoh Fadika Fans Club must continue even after me he maintained.

 

The Fans Club has as its motto: Forward Ever Backward Never. Goal: to foster unity among ourselves and render assistance to each other in times of need. Vision: to emulate and express a heartfelt appreciation to an Icon that has served his country. Among the Aims and Objectives of the Fans Club, are to raise funds in support of the operation of the Association and for issues of national concern and to render necessary assistance in time of needs.

AND the party went on all night long, night long and all night long
