Poor Communications in Sierra Leone

I am not the only Sierra Leonean suffering from current poor state of communications in the country. However, it will appear few journalists or civil society activists are bothered by the poor communications service being rendered to Sierra Leoneans amidst a lacklustre Communications Ministry and seemingly inept National Telecommunications regulator (NATCOM).

At present, browsing the Internet or speaking on the phone is like walking a field of landmines. You are never sure of what happens next. Abrupt disconnections are now regular.

I wish Sierra Leones democratic opposition could pay attention to these real issues affecting Sierra Leoneans. The opposition seems to be too pre-occupied with negative tribalism and laying the foundation for a repeat of incidents of 2007 Kenyan elections that led to power-sharing between tribes in Kenya.

SLPPs tribal baiting & regional stoking for votes is shameful. Let them talk of how they will improve dismal communications service. They will be surprised at the support they might get.
