The late Hon. Victor Chukuma Johnson was a close friend of Construction and Development Partnership (CODEP). CODEP is a charitable international Non-Governmental Organization that operates in the United Kingdom (UK) and Sierra Leone. Hon. Victor Chukuma Johnson was exceptionally close to this organization because of its activities in trying to improve on the culture of reading and standards of education, through the establishment of school Libraries, building of Libraries and training of teachers on Library Skills in the Waterloo community.

Because of his love and commitment to this course, the honorable was appointed as Trustee of the company in the United Kingdom.

LATE MR. VICTOR CHUKUMA JOHNSON

Before the land for the construction of the Waterloo Library was acquired by the company, Hon. Victor Chukuma Johnson was on of the great contributors in convincing the people of Waterloo to give up the land, which was been used as a playing field, for the project.

He promised to purchase an alternative land to be used as community field for the Waterloo people. He recently earmarked a land that was situated close to the former District Commissioners residence, to be used as a community field. After acquiring the piece of land, the honorable gave an instruction to one Mr. Alusine H. Sesay to enquire from any Civil Engineering company what will it cost to construct a new field on the optional land.

The Mechanical Services Unit of the Sierra Leone Roads Authority was then contacted for the project but unfortunately, due to poor health condition, Hon. Victor Chukuma Johnson was unable to complete the project until he met his untimely death.

Whilst he was alive, the honorable championed the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the Library in Waterloo, of which the first phase of the building has just been completed.

At the end of the first phase, Hon. Johnson advised that the opening of the Waterloo Library be postponed to February 2013 so as to allow all electoral activities to be concluded.

Hon. Johnson was also part of the team that made the trip to Lungi to welcome CODEP UKs team to Sierra Leone. He further provided accommodation and vehicles for members of the team throughout their stay and activities in Sierra Leone.

He took the leading role in organizing the February 2011 National Library Festival for Waterloo and was commencing arrangements for the 2012 National Library and Cultural Festival prior to his death.

Hon Victor Chukuma Johnson, May God Almighty give you eternal rest.

AN ADJECTIVE ACROSTIC FOR THE LATE MR. VICTOR CHUKUMA JOHNSON

M-aster of noble integrity

R-ose from the Johnsons garden

V-ictor Chukuma Johnson

I-nstilled a sense of discipline and pride in all and sundry

C-hristianity and God fearing

T-ruthworthy and humbled, he was

O- riented with development plans and legacies

R- eched at a peak of unexplainable excellence

C-harming and loving gentle man

H-onored and trusted

U- nderminded every vermin of society

K-nocking almost always at the doors of development

U- nrevelled development legacies with convenience

M-aking the crystal difference as he,

A-imed at nothing but the best.

J-ustice for all he advocated for

O-ver and over he won the race

H-ard working and dedicated, he remained loyal

N-ever did he leave a Godly job undone

S-leep gently, Victor Chukuma Johnson, upon your saviors chest

O-nward with convenience you would match to paradise

N-ext to Christ Im certain you would stay.

R.I.P
