Sierra Leoneís Defense Minister Major (rtd) Palor Conteh yesterday September 5th 2012, stood in open court and expressed his unconditional forgiveness for the dishonour that had been done to him by our war veterans. Indeed, at that moment, going by reports of joyful expressions of the war veterans (some call them ex-combatants), it was clear that the former soldiers now see their countryís Honourable Minister of Defense as a Knight in Shining Armour.
I am reliably informed that they later visited with him at his office and have sincerely apologized for the unfortunate incident. As an English saying goes, itís sometimes difficult to tell between the egg and the chicken which came first but today, all is well that ends well.
Definitely, war veterans now know that Hon. Palor Conteh is not the bad dude they had misconceived him to be but that he had been genuinely seeking their welfare in midst  of a Government balancing many financial priorities.
Yesterdayís action of Major (rtd) Palor Conteh towards his fellow ex-servicemen was an act of chivalry by a former military officer. I join to salute you Sir. Bravo!
Bravo also to all who saw reason in dropping this matter.
