In Sierra Leone, ďBio isnít Qualified to Share Political Platform With MeĒ - EBK Says

Adding further to deep morass which Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) has lately been embedded within is diplomatic debunking of their Press Release saying SLAJ ďreached agreementĒ with the President to lead in organizing a presidential debate between the President and opposition presidential candidate Julius Maada Bio. Capable sources insist that SLAJ never met with President Koroma to discuss any such matter let alone ďreached agreementĒ with him.

It now appears the only presidential candidate whom SLAJ directly spoke to on the matter was Julius Maada Bio following which they issued the premature Press Release. It is now emerging that a surreptitious plan to embarrass the President by SLAJ announcing such fake agreement, was hatched up in some political corridors leading to SLAJ announcement of  last Friday October 12th 2012.

In a diplomatic snub of the tactics of SLAJ, President Koroma who is the Chairman, Leader and Presidential candidate of the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) for November 17th elections, has on the day after SLAJ issued the rather bogus announcement, declared in Makeni that the flag bearer of the opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) Julius Maada Bio is not ďqualified to share a political platform with him on issuesĒ because Bio is ďlawless, disorderly and does not respect authorityĒ.

To a jam-packed crowd of APC supporters and stalwarts at the Wusum stadium on arrival in Makeni, President Koroma said that politics should be treated with utmost seriousness because the lives of the people depend on it.

The President also mocked those opposition activists who claimed he had failed as Head of State. He said their standards for success of a regime depends on having many people brutally killed by that regime without judicial trials or national passports stolen and sold off to Hong Kong or many citizens suffering horrible human rights abuses because of the policies of the State. He said since he failed to achieve any such negative development during his five years tenure but only improved the country, they were calling him a failure.

He also noted that his five years report card published by the Open Government Initiativeís (OGI) Citizens Report Card (CRC) clearly shows that he is indeed a grade ĎAí student.
