In Sierra Leone, President Koroma Signs the International Electricity Line Treaty

President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has received a high powered delegation from the West African Power Pool (WAPP) to sign the international electricity Line Treaty in ECOWAS states on Tuesday 23rd October, 2012.

 

The delegation was led by the Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Oluniyi Robin Coker.

According to the Mr. Oluniyi Robin Coker the revised Master Plan for the Generation and Transmission of Electrical Energy was approved by the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government through supplementary Act A/SA. 12/02/12. He also noted that the project entails the construction of 1,360 km of 225 KV Transmission Line from Cote dIvoire to Guinea through Liberia and Sierra Leone.

 

Introducing the delegation Mr. Amadu Diallo profusely thanked President Koroma for granting them audience and for signing the agreement that will see the sub region electrified by 2016.
