Now come out tomorrow in your hundreds of thousands to vote!
The Vehicle Ban is illegal & unconstitutional! IGNORE IT

Statements of congratulations have been pouring in for Sierra Leone over impressive manner in which the just-concluded electoral campaigns have been conducted in one of the most free and democratic atmospheres ever seen on the African continent.

All over the country, Sierra Leoneans have freely campaigned with not a single reported incident of a politician being blocked from entering any part of the country as was the case in the 2007 elections.

The opposition candidates have been hurling insults and abuses on the sitting Head of State over the radios and during their street rallies but no one has attempted to stop them.

For the past few weeks and even until last evening, the main opposition Vice-Presidential candidate Dr. Kadi Sesay was publicly hurling patent abuses on the person of the sitting Vice-President, Chief Sam-Sumana and no State official has intimidated her in return.

Dr. Kadi Sesay is free to open her mouth and abuse the Honourable Vice-President because it is her constitutional right to do so under her granted freedom of speech.

Our constitutional rights are sacred and should never be tampered with. This is why attempts by the Sierra Leone Police, the National Electoral Commission and arrogant politicians, to restrict our freedom of movement on elections day, have met with stiff resistance from citizens who have vowed to just ignore the unconstitutional and illegal ban.

This writer continues to call on all citizens to ignore the polices so-called ban on vehicles; Come out in your hundreds of thousands to vote for the candidates of your choice. If you need to use your cars to go out and vote, do not allow any illegal ban to stop you from moving to go and vote where you registered.

This ban on vehicular movement is illegal, might result in voter apathy, skewed results and messy outcomes in post-elections period. So, IGNORE IT..!

Another option to be used involves going to Police Headquarters to collect a paper clearance which will ensure your vehicle can move with incapacitated persons to the polling stations or you can travel to distant centers where you registered.

Call the Police Spokesman (076-613893) or Police IG (076-615561) to request processing of such paper clearance.

Whatever, the case, DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO ILLEGALLY TAMPER WITH YOUR RIGHTS GRANTED YOU UNDER THE CONSTITUTION. You have a right to vote and you have a right to freedom of movement.
