Dear Fellow Citizen,
I came to you in 2007 with a promise to transform the state of affairs of our nation; you believed in me and I delivered.
In the last five years, we have made transformational strides in electricity supply, in the delivery of health care, in the construction of roads, and in attracting billions of dollars in foreign direct investment. We have not yet reached the Promised Land, but we are heading in the right direction. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity you gave me to bring this about.
Fellow compatriots, I know the dreams you have for your country and I know the aspirations you have for the future. Let me be the agent of change that will help you realize your dreams and aspirations for secure jobs and prosperous family life.
I am on my way to your home and neighbourhood to ask you to re-elect me, but if I donít get there before November 17th 2012, let this letter be my promissory note to you. I promise to consolidate the gains we have made in the last five years and to do more to improve your life in the next five years. Voting for me is voting for more jobs and greater prosperity; the alternative is like a broken past placed before us.
Finally, my compatriot, whichever way you choose to vote, please endeavour to maintain peace and avoid violence because we may have several political parties but we have only one motherland, Sierra Leone.
Your fellow Sierra Leonean,
Ernest Bai Koroma
