The Honourable House of Parliament has on Friday, 18th January, 2013 approved a third batch of Presidential Nominees for the positions of Cabinet Ministers and Deputy Ministers in the Well of Parliament. This brings to 27 the total number of ministers and deputy ministers approved to serve President Koroma. The honourable Attorney-General who does not need parliamentary approval now makes it to be a total of 28 members of the President's cabinet all now set to help the President carry out his agenda for prosperity.

During the proceedings to approve the third batch composed of thirteen nominees, the Leader of the Majority Party in Parliament, Hon. Sheku B. B. Dumbuya who also doubles as Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Appointment and Public Service, tabled the Government Motion in the House of Parliament. He told his colleague MPs that all the nominees have gone through interviews conducted by the Appointment Committee, adding that all of them were interviewed on work situations, declaration of assets, tax obligations and strategies for next jobs, among others. Hon. Dumbuya further revealed that the nominees were very successful in their interviews and they deserved approval by the full House.

On his part, Hon. Foday Rado Yokie of opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) representing Bo District expressed satisfaction with integrity of the Committee and its judgment on the nominees. He then called on his colleague MPs to support the motion on the approval of the nominees, whilst further appealing to the nominees to work in consonance with MPs irrespective of their political ideologies, to develop the country. Hon. Yokie further commended President Koroma for appointing youthful ministers to serve in his Cabinet.

Hon. Rosaline J. Smith, of the All Peoples Congress (APC) party representing Constituency 103 in the Western Urban District, specifically commended the Minister of Works and Housing, Alimamy Petito Koroma for having played magnificent role in the Agenda for Change that has given birth to the Agenda for Prosperity.

The fearless, outspoken, no-nonsense Hon. Dr. Bernadette Lahai, Minority Leader of the SLPP, also congratulated and prayed for the youthful female Minister of Health and Sanitation, Ms. Miata Kargbo.

Hon. Bernadette Lahai acknowledged that Kargbo's ministry has lots of challenges but advised her to be self-determined when performing her duties. Hon.Lahai further revealed that in her opinion, women ministers have always played significant roles and showcased capabilities in their assigned Ministries. She expressed hope that Ms. Kargbo will follow similar path.

The Ministers approved included, Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray as Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources, Mr. Joseph B. Dauda as Minister of Internal Affairs, Dr. Minkailu Bah as Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara as Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Alimamy Petito Koroma as Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Mamoud Tarawally as Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Ibrahim Washingai Mansaray as Deputy Minister of Transport and Aviation, Alhaji Alpha B.S.
