With support from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) has once again taken the lead in promoting government's agenda by kick-starting the implementation of the Agenda for Prosperity with the commissioning of dozens of completed infrastructure Sub Projects. The formal commissioning ceremonies have been slated to span from January through February 2013 across the entire country.

The completed sub projects include Primary and Junior Secondary schools, Community Health Posts (CHPs), Maternal and Child Health Posts (MCHPs), Community Centres, Community Markets, Hand Pump Water Wells etc, the provision of these facilities is geared towards promoting the socio-economic wellbeing of Sierra Leoneans, consistent with government's development aspirations as outlined in the "Agenda for Prosperity".

Speaking to reporters at his Charlotte Street Office, the Commissioner of NaCSA, Saidu Conton Sesay, explained that the completed facilities, which will be commissioned in the coming weeks, will assist fragile and vulnerable communities to reduce poverty and build local capacity for collective action, thus contributing to the country's stability, peace and Prosperity. He furthered that the completion and commissioning of these sub projects at this stage is very timely, as it comes at a time when the Commission has already repositioned itself to play a leading role in implementing the 'Agenda for Prosperity', following a successful role in implementing the Agenda for Change.

Commissioner Saidu Conton Sesay noted that, in addition to the nation-wide commissioning of completed sub projects, NaCSA is concomitantly engaged in the launching of the implementation of new sub projects including; Primary and Junior Secondary Schools, Health Facilities, Hand Pump Water-Wells, Court Houses, Fencing of Mini Stadia etc across the country, these newly launched sub Projects are expected to be completed within six months.

Since its inception, NaCSA has played a leading role in implementing government's development programmes with support from donors and government. NaCSA constructed the above social amenities as part of the Sierra Leone Community Driven Development (SLCDD) Project, which is supported by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), and which is designed to reduce poverty and build capacity in poor communities.

As we go to press, a high powered delegation made up of senior NaCSA staff and other government officials has already left Freetown to commission these projects which are spread across all twelve districts of the country. From the Junior Secondary School in Yawbeko chiefdom, Bonthe district, to the primary school in Kpanga Kabonde chiefdom in Pujehun, the Community Health post in Sandor chiefdom in Kono, and the community Centre in Buya Romende in Port Loko, among others, NaCSA has further consolidated its enviable track record of delivering quality services to Sierra Leoneans in all corners of the country.  "We take development to the doorstep of the people" Commissioner Sesay told newsmen.

Local people have already welcomed these latest developments, which they see as indicators that the 'Agenda for Prosperity' is well underway, and have commended NaCSA for once again taking the lead in providing the crucial amenities for the full enjoyment of prosperity.

A full list of the completed sub projects that will be commissioned and the respective locations is outlined below:
