Popular flagbearer aspirant of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Ambassador Umaru Bond Wurie has on Monday 29nd August, 2016 allayed the fear among his supporters that nothing would stop him from contesting the party’s flagbearer contest.
The statement from the Ambassador At Large came following series of concerns expressed by party members and well-wishers that he had backed out of the race.

Speaking during a special interview on Monday afternoon, he said, “I have no intention of pulling out from the flagbearer race, I just want my supporters to believe in me and to continue doing the ground work. I can’t quit for any reasons, without their consent.”
He said he can understand the frustration from his supporters because of the miss-leading information. “… but I just want them to be patient and not to be by means distracted by distractors,” He said,He warned his supporters that politics is a game which is very deceptive and must be aware of misguided people who spread false information.
Ambassador Wurie also pointed out that he is observing the lower-tier elections with knee interest adding that his supporters are positioned strategically in all the centers across the country.
Ambassador Wurie was appreciated for his numerous assistances to his people during the height of the Ebola outbreak which claimed several innocent lives in the country.
His commitment and dedication to national services speak volumes of a man who loves his country and the people and to many he can definitely be a perfect candidate that could bring back the SLPP to power.
