The ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) led government was this weekend the toast of many around the world when the leaders of Ebola Survivors association stormed Harvard in USA and Sweden in Europe. There was not a single negative comment but praises all over for the President and the APC.
Harvard University, one of the highest ranked universities in entire world, has been rocked by the President of Sierra Leone Association of Ebola Survivors, Mr. Yusuf Kabba at a grand event on Friday September 23rd 2016.
Mr. Yusuf Kabba was on a High Profile Panel that included Professor Paul Farmer of Partners In Health (PIH) and Professor Pardis Sabeti of Broad Institute. The jam packed Harvard University auditorium was visibly moved several times in his emotional presentation that called for more attention to be paid by International Community to the needs of Ebola Survivors, Ebola Orphans and other Ebola-affected citizens of Sierra Leone.
This historic event followed the approval by government for the Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs to disburse the sum of Le1.1BILLION Leones to Survivors this week in a grand launching of ID Card distributions at YWCA, Freetown on Thursday.

Already, according to reports from Sweden, the entire Sierra Leonean community in Scandinavia, friends and well wishers of Sierra Leone were held spell bound to an emotional presentation by Daddy Hassan Kamara an Ebola Survivor who doubles as PRO for SLAES.
Mr. Kamara started by thanking Allah, President Koroma and his dedicated Social Welfare Minister, Hon. Dr. Sylvia Olayinka Blyden for making him what he is currently and letting him to meet people overseas to share the challenges faced by Ebola Survivors inside the country.
The tour of the leadership of SLAES is part of government’s moves through the ministry responsible for the welfare of Ebola Survivors, Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs to say thank you to some of the Diaspora communities that contributed immensely in fighting the eradication of the Ebola Virus Disease from Sierra Leone, and to also solicit more funding towards the welfare of other Ebola survivors.

HON DR SYLVIA OLAYINKA BLYDEN, THROUGH SLAES SPOKESMAN HASSAN KAMARA, TAKES SIERRA LEONE’S POST EBOLA PRIORITIES TO STOCKHOLM, THE CAPITAL OF SCANDINAVIA
On Saturday 24th September 2016, the entire Sierra Leonean community in Scandinavia, friends and well wishers of Sierra Leone were held spell bound to an emotional presentation by Daddy Hassan Kamara an Ebola Survivor who doubles as PRO for Sierra Leone Association of Ebola Survivors (SLAES). Mr. Kamara who is currently visiting Europe, flew in from Amsterdam the night before.
Mr. Kamara started by thanking Allah, President Koroma and his dedicated Social Welfare minister Dr Sylvia Blyden for making him what he is currently and letting him to meet people overseas to share the challenges faced by Ebola Survivors inside the country.

Hassan’s narratives were so touching that the jammed packed hall burst into tears before he finished.
Most of those interviewed said they shed tears because of 3 reasons.
1. Tears for those who were directly affected by Ebola
2. Tears of joy for having President Koroma who led the war against Ebola and made sure that the welfare of Ebola Survivors has become a priority in Sierra Leone.
3. Tears of joy for the vision used by President Koroma to appoint Dr Slyvia Olayinka Blyden as minister of social welfare who has now brought an Ebola Survivor right into their door steps.
The people also learnt that Honourable Dr Olayinka Blyden was in constant touch with not only Daddy Hassan Kamara but with people like Junior Foday, Peagie Foday and Ahmed Timbo who made it possible for the presentation to take place.
At the end the people showered praises for both His Excellency President Koroma and for Honourable Dr Sylvia Blyden for the opportunity given them to hear from an Ebola Survivor.
