National Secretary General of the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC), Ambassador Osman Foday Yansaneh has expressed concern over what he referred to as the “warmonger attitude” of the Acting Publicity Secretary of the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP).
Ambassador Yansaneh was speaking to the Awareness Times Newspaper yesterday Monday 22nd May 2017, whilst reacting to statements earlier made by Lahai Lawrence Leema about SLPP prepared to cause another civil war should any APC supporter physically hurt Leema.
Ambassador O.F. Yansaneh, as he is fondly called, said Leema is ignorant of the consequences of the eleven-year brutal civil war in this country, and “that is why he is always threatening with war.” The APC Scribe therefore assured that the insane method of fighting a war will no longer be tolerated in Sierra Leone.
Ambassador Yansaneh continued that the SLPP is not doing good to this nation by sending Lahai Leema to serve in such capacity as National Publicity Secretary. “The people of this country are no longer prepared for war and warmongers like Leema, we will have to unify our efforts to stop them,” APC Yansaneh said.
Meanwhile, it could be recalled that on Saturday 20th May 2017, SLPP’s Lahai Leema and an APC supporter were guests of ‘Insai the Media Programme’ on Star TV when a debate turned into a verbal abuse that eventually led to the cancellation of the programme. Shortly after, it was alleged on Social Media that SLPP’s Leema was severely beaten by the APC supporter for reigning insults on him.
Furthermore, it was on such allegations of his beating that Leema in an audio recording which he shared on Social Media on Sunday 21st May 2017, said that if any APC person physically hit him then that will prompt the beginning of another civil war in the country, although Leema himself denied ever being beaten up in the audio he released.
