The Lebanese Community in Sierra Leone headed by Samir Hassaniyeh has on Tuesday 30th May 2017, donated food items worth over one hundred and twenty million Leones (Le120,000,000) to 34 Mosques in Freetown at the Central Mosque, Freetown.
The items donated include but where not limited to 170 dozen of mega cola drinks, 170 bags of rice (50 kg bags), 34 big bags of milk, 34 containers of vegetable oil (5 gallon containers), 34 big bags of sugar, 34 cartoons of cocoa, 34 cartoons of juice etc.
The ceremony took place at the Central Mosque in Freetown. Speaking on behalf of the Lebanese Community, its President Samir Hassaniyeh said it was a pleasure to make the donation to the targeted beneficiaries. He added that they have been in this country for a lengthy period of time now and they consider themselves as Sierra Leoneans noting that since it is the month of fasting they deemed it fit to make the kind gesture.
